There is a common notion among elders that nutrition, health and fitness is meant for adults. We cannot say that it is completely inappropriate to think that way. One generation back, children were unique for their high physical activity and energy all day long. They used to eat healthy home-made food and spend most of their time playing with neighborhood kids of the same age group. Even at school, except for the hours of class time, you could see all of them outside in the playground. At that time, there was enough activity for children that none thought of exercises and fitness programs for children.
Lifestyles have changed a lot and the new trend of living in apartments in a building than single houses has limited children’s activities to inside their homes. Now most of the kids after returning from school sit in front of television, computer or video games and spend their leisure time without much physical activity. Games and sports are now intentionally included in the curriculum to make children participate. The popularity of junk foods has spread not only among elders but children love them too. Unhealthy eating habits has led to unusual weight gain and the physical features of children like weight and height is abnormal, making them more susceptible to diseases and increasing risk of obesity at such young age.
To suit the present living conditions, healthy and nutritious diet and a regular exercise routine is very essential to take care of children’s health. Yoga, martial arts or aerobic lessons should be included in your kid’s daily routine to ensure their health. This will help them to fight against gaining unnecessary fat, and keep their body.
